Surfwise is a documentary about the Paskowitz family who, led (or forced) by "Doc" Paskowitz, they left the material world behind, and lived out of a 24' camper, traveling all over North and Central America surfing and living the healthy bohemian lifestyle. All eleven of them! A great story and a can't miss for any father. Not just the romanticized aspects, but the hard parts as well. It asks and answers a lot of questions we as fathers will have as we wonder if we're making the right choices for our family. Is this whats best for them, or is it just what we want to be doing? I like the quote at the end...
"Wisdom is what you get from experience, and that it what my children had a lot of."
I'm just a father who wants more for my child than a modern consumer-driven world can offer. I want my children to grow up dirty, in water, mud, snow, whatever it is they choose to follow I want them to follow a path that gives them the joy its given me plus some.
